Do you have Maths Eyes?

In Te Ngahere we have been doing some different kind of Maths called "Do you have Maths Eyes?". "Maths Eyes" is when we answer questions about the photo we see on the slide and what else we can see other then just a photo. For example: For this "Maths Eyes" we had to answer questions and say what we saw, other than just decorated gingerbread man.
This is my "Maths Eyes": Hope you enjoy and learn something new!

Beginners Guide On How To Find The Area Of A Shape

During lockdown (Level 3) my household has been very busy, especially with us doing homework everyday. Every day at 9:30 am our class has a hangout with our teachers where they talk about what we will be doing for the day. We also have another hangout at 2:00 pm where we talk about what we did and what our favourite thing we did for the day was. We also have been doing some Maths/Pangarau. The type of math that we are doing is called Perimeter and Area. When we learnt how to do Perimeter and Area, we had to make a Digital Learning Object. In the Digital Learning Object, we teach other people how to do it. I think I done good at screencastify. What do you think about my screencastify & DLO (Digital Learning Object). Have you ever screencastify before?

SLJ Week 2 Day 9 (Meet my family)

Kia ora Koutou, At Paihia School, In Te Ngahere we have been doing SLJ Activities (Summer Learning Journey). For Activity 1 we had to Write a list of pros and cons of being one of 19 children and answer What are the positives? and What would the negatives be?. For Activity 2 we had to answer What would it be like to be the parents JimBob and Michelle?, then write a diary entry of what a day in the life of the parents would be like. We could start from whatever time they would wake up, what they would do next, all the way through to bedtime at night. And for the Bonus Activity we had to choose a family member and conduct a short interview. In the interview we had to ask them five questions about themselves:
Who/ what were you named after?
 Where were you born?
 What year were you born?
How many siblings do you have?
What is your favorite thing about living in New Zealand?
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? and Why?

Since it's lockdown, my class Te Ngahere have been doing some distance learning. We have been doing some SLJ Activity's (Summer Learning Journey) for some of our distance learning. For Activity 1 we had to answer these questions: What are your favourite things to do in the summer time? and Do they have your favourite activities in your new country?. Then we had to Research two activities you can do during summer time in your country and Include a picture of both activities and a description about them. For Activity 2 we had to Ask someone in our family or one of our friends what their favourite five things are to do in the summer time and Write the title ‘Summer Activities’ and, below the title, record their 5 favourite activities. Then Choose 2 or 3 activities, and in 3-4 sentences write to advertise their activities! and Make it sound so appealing anyone would want to do it!. Finally, for the Bonus Activity, Instead of taking a picture or writing to them. For this activity you are invited to make a poster using canva. Choose a poster template and advertise your all time favourite, summer time activity! and Include images and powerful descriptive words/ sentences that will make the viewer want to join!.

SLJ Week 2 Day 7 (It's time for Breakfast)

Since it's lockdown, my class Te Ngahere have been doing some distance learning. We have been doing some SLJ Activity's (Summer Learning Journey) for some of our distance learning. For activity 1 we had to Compare the picture of common breakfast foods in the country we have chosen to visit, with what you typically eat for breakfast here in New Zealand. We had to answer these questions: What do you eat for breakfast?, What do people in your chosen country eat for breakfast?, Which of the two breakfast options (your breakfast or the breakfast in the other country) you prefer and why you prefer it?. For activity 2 we had to bake our favourite kiwi food (kiwifruit, lamb, whitebait, oysters, tuatua (shellfish), kumara, bacon and egg pie, hokey pokey ice cream, lolly cake, anzac biscuits and pavlova) and post a picture of it completed!. Underneath the picture we had to try and convince the teachers that our choice of food, is the best choice!. And finally for the Bonus Activity, After reading the arguments, We had to answer what we think? (Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?) Why or why not?. We also had to find facts to support our choice and write 8-10 sentences explaining your side.
