How To Make Your Art Work More Outstanding!

In Te Ngahere we have been doing some digital art. The digital art we are doing is called Mosaic Art. We first had to make a Google drawing. Next we had to choose an animal, person, plant, etc or anything we wanted to (even anime characters). Then we had to use the polyline tool to make any kind of shapes with gaps so the shapes weren’t touching to make the animal, person or plant we chose. We were learning about Mosaic art because earlier on this term we made some DLO’s and Videos about trees or plants of our choice.
We are going to make some Q.R codes that link to our DLO and with the Mosaic art picture of a plant or tree so that the person has an idea of what we are talking about. We also did this last year so I had a few ideas of what to do so I enjoyed it very much. I think that I did good with making the shapes and using the polyline tool. Something I could have done better was adding some other colours to make it look more detailed instead of just doing two colours. I think that my Rabbit turned out really well and I like it very much. If you got a chance to make a Mosaic Art piece, what would it be of?
Here is my Mosaic Art of a Rabbit: Hope you like it!

How To Make Your Name Beautiful!

In Te Ngahere we have been doing symmetry name art. We were learning how to make our name into art. I enjoyed doing this because I love art and it didn’t take long to do. The hard thing was to make sure that everything was symmetrical including the letters. If you wanted to make your name beautiful I would recommend doing symmetry name art. What is your name?

Calender Art!

Last week in Te Ngahere we started doing some calendar art called mahi toi. Mahi Toi is a piece of art. My focus was, to try keep the pencil on the paper for as long as I can drawing continuous lines. I learnt that it is easier to draw a circle with your shoulder instead of your wrist because your wrist can’t twist right around unlike your shoulder, you can just guide it in a circle perfectly. I haven’t finished my artwork yet, but I can show you what it is soon going to look like.
Do you like art? Here is a picture of what my art is going to look like:

Mosaic Art

In Te Ngahere we have been doing a type of art called “Mosaic Art”. Mosaic Art is when you make any kind of shapes that fits closely together but not too close to the point where it touches. We do that because if we made the shapes far apart or too close together it would look wrong and wouldn’t have the Mosaic art effect. First, we made a google drawing to create our Mosaic art on. Second, we created any shapes with polyline. Thirdly, we coloured in our shapes we made. When we were doing art in lockdown I didn’t really know what to do and I did the shapes too close together. Now that I know how to do Mosaic art I really enjoyed it and I think it turned out really good. Here is my Mosaic artwork: Hope you like it.

Pou Pou Art

In Te Ngahere we have been doing art. We have been doing Pou Pou art.. Pou or Pou Pou are carvings that are normally found in a marae. They represent IwI (tribes) or in other words they are a carving that marks boundaries or places of significance that are carved by maori. They are made out of wood but our class drew them on paper and colored them in with pastel. My theme was hot colours red, orange, yellow and the cold colors green and blue. I used more warm colors then cold colors. I learnt what Pou meant and actually were, because I had no idea what they were before we started doing art.
Here is a photo of my Pou Pou art. Hope you learnt something and like my Pou Pou art.
